Advice to college bound high school graduates

Don’t let high school graduation and acceptance to college catch you napping! After a sometimes emotional release from the stresses of senior year in high school, some recently graduated students forget that their next journey will begin in only two short months.

The summertime should be spent on looking at the pieces of the college puzzle that may not have been put into place yet.

  • Actual Enrollment – you’ve been accepted to several colleges/universities and you have been given grace in making your decision about where to enroll. Now is that time, don’t miss you opportunity because of indecision. What is your gut telling you? Then do it!
  • Rooming assignments – make sure the paperwork and deposits are in. Be honest about your preferences in a roommate
  • Meal plan decision – make a smart decision about the way you actually eat. If you are not a big breakfast eater — then forego the breakfast meal plan and stock up on bananas, PopTarts, and tea for your morning kickstart.

These are exciting times for high school graduates. If you need some guidance because you feel you might have let an opportunity slip by, contact us at info@somdcan.org. We’ll help you answer a nagging question — and I don’t mean about your mother!! 😉
