Sonia K. Wagner has 25 years experience in the higher education Financial Aid arena. Ms. Wagner’s background as a Financial Aid Director at several colleges in the Boston area and as a consultant for colleges including Smith College and Amherst College in Massachusetts lead her to evaluate what was important to her – serving as a resource of information to students and families before they commit to a particular college. She has been awarded numerous awards for her work in College Access, and publishes and speaks passionately about access to higher education through Financial Aid. Ms. Wagner privately funds the SoMD CAN Educational Grant, which has been awarded to students since 2009, and is the creator/developer and Chairperson for the Calvert Local Scholarships Application Clearinghouse.
Dana Langley, Pre-College Advisor – Patuxent High/Northern High/Huntingtown High Seniors – Dana is a Northern High School graduate and lifelong resident of Calvert County, Maryland. She began her college career at Prince George’s Community College and earned her B.A. in Human Development from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Dana started in the workforce as a Social Worker with the State of Maryland, working with children and families in crisis. She spent the last 20 years involved in community projects such as the Calvert Elementary, Plum Point Middle and Huntingtown High PTSA organizations. She has volunteered with Project Echo, Birthright, Hospice of Calvert County, Catholic Charities, United Way Day of Caring and the Food Bank. She is married, with two children. Dana very much enjoys working with the students and families in the Southern Maryland CAN and YOU CAN programs. She is committed to helping better the lives of the people in her community and the students in her programs.
